Welcome Puppy

This week we got a puppy. Her name is Olive and she's just a babe at 2.5 months. This means that we'll start exploring what other dog lovers in Hong Kong do -- and there sure are a lot of them.

One of our favorite neighborhood places to date is the Three Dog Bakery. The desserts in their shop make me envious, and they sure do love their furry friends in there. The staff in there have already taken to doting over Olive ... how could I resist a place like that?

The other place that Olive and I have been visiting a bunch is the dog park. Located just under the Hong Kong Jockey Club in Happy Valley, this place is perfect for your pooch to have some off leash fun. At any time, there seems to be a dozen or so dogs there.

The Chapel

The Chapel is a great pub that serves a mean curry. I'm happy that it's a stone's throw from my home, too.

Brian and I must come here once a week to get our fix of tandoori and daal. Mmmmm.

Bonus: They have a great quiz night on Thursdays. Be armed with your smartest mates, though: it's difficult!

We have a home

On March 9th, we officially moved into our new flat. It's located behind the race track in an area known as Happy Valley. It sounds like such a lovely place to live, doesn't it?

Brian wanted an apartment with a patio.

I wanted an apartment with an open kitchen.

We got neither. However, we did get a proper sized three-bedroom flat, so we've plenty of room for guests.

My favorite part of the apartment is the dining room. The worst part is the kitchen. I have no oven and just a two burner stove. Oh, and where my oven should be, there is a washing machine.

I better brush up my wok and pan-frying skills.
